The Trial

This powerful message takes us through the harrowing journey of Jesus' six trials during the final hours before His crucifixion. We encounter the religious and political machinations that led to the cross, witnessing how the Sanhedrin violated their own laws 25 times in their desperate attempt to condemn an innocent man. What emerges is a profound truth: Jesus is the judge who was judged in our place. He didn't stumble into crucifixion; He walked deliberately toward it, refusing to save Himself when He could have remained silent. The message confronts us with an uncomfortable reality—when we look at those who condemned Jesus, we must see our own faces. Like the artist Rembrandt who painted himself at the foot of the cross raising it high, we stand at that fulcrum. Our sin, our rebellion, our rejection of His authority placed Him there. Yet this is precisely why the cross brings hope rather than despair. God doesn't relax His standards or wink at sin; instead, He raises us up with Christ by having Christ take our judgment upon Himself. The penalty had to be paid, and Jesus paid it willingly, declaring His divinity even when silence would have saved His life.
