For the Doubters

What do we do when belief feels impossible? Thomas is not a villain in this story. He is one of us. He was loyal enough to say he would die with Jesus in John 11, and curious enough to ask Jesus directly how to know the way in John 14. And yet, when the moment of greatest significance arrived, doubt took over. What makes this passage so striking is what Jesus does next. He does not scold Thomas from a distance. He shows up, specifically and personally, and offers Thomas exactly what he needs to believe. This is not a story about the weakness of doubt. It is a story about the relentless pursuit of a risen Savior who meets us right where we are. The spiritual lesson here is profound: Jesus is exactly who he says he is, and he is willing to prove it to us in the ways we most need to experience it. That truth is not just for Thomas.
