God's Ongoing Project

This powerful message confronts us with an uncomfortable truth that transforms into the most beautiful promise imaginable: we were dead, truly dead, in our sins and trespasses. Drawing from Ephesians 2:1-7, we're challenged to look into the mirror of Scripture and see ourselves as we really were—not merely sick or dying, but spiritually deceased, unable to save ourselves any more than a corpse at the bottom of the ocean could swim to shore. The message unpacks what this living death looked like: enslaved to physical passions, self-centered and self-justifying, consumed with anger and unable to extend grace. Yet right in the middle of this stark reality comes that glorious three-letter word: 'But God.' Rich in mercy and overflowing with agape love, God dove into the depths, pulled up our lifeless bodies, breathed resurrection into us, and seated us in the heavenly places with Christ Jesus. This isn't just theological theory—it's our rags-to-riches story, meant to display the immeasurable riches of God's grace to a watching world. The question becomes deeply personal: Who were we before Christ? Who are we now? Can we articulate our transformation story? Every believer should have a testimony that demonstrates God's extravagant rescue mission, showing that no price was too high to bring us home.
