Friday Morning Men’s Group
Friday Morning Men’s Group meets at the church every Friday morning from 6:30-7:30am. The group meets in the Fellowship Hall (straight inside the wood double front doors) for a continental breakfast, singing, fellowship and study. The time is early but you leave more alive and ready to GO and be Christ’s ambassador in your mission field. Men of all ages are welcome to attend and golf follows for those who are interested.
Our current video/book study is When Helping Hurts by Steve Corbett and Brian Fikkert.
Poverty is much more than simply a lack of material resources, and it takes much more than donations and handouts to solve it. When Helping Hurts shows how some alleviation efforts, failing to consider the complexities of poverty, have actually (and unintentionally) done more harm than good.
But it looks ahead. It encourages us to see the dignity in everyone, to empower the materially poor, and to know that we are all uniquely needy—and that God in the gospel is reconciling all things to himself.
Focusing on both North American and Majority World contexts, When Helping Hurts provides proven strategies for effective poverty alleviation, catalyzing the idea that sustainable change comes not from the outside in, but from the inside out.

Later this semester we’ll begin the book study Celebration of Discipline: The Path to Spiritual Growth by Richard Foster.
Richard Foster’s Celebration of Discipline: The Path to Spiritual Growth is hailed by many as the best modern book on Christian spirituality with millions of copies sold since its original publication in 1978.
In Celebration of Discipline, Foster explores the “classic Disciplines,” or central spiritual practices, of the Christian faith to show how each of these areas contribute to a balanced spiritual life.
Foster, the bestselling author of several books (Prayer and Streams of Living Water) and intrachurch movement founder of Renovaré, helps motivate Christians everywhere to embark on a journey of prayer and spiritual growth.
